LeGeyt Hears Local Concerns about State Money from Municipal Leaders

Rep. Tim LeGeyt on Friday met with local leaders from the district he represents during a forum at the Capitol designed to give legislators a better idea of the budgetary problems municipal officials are dealing with in this sour economic climate. Municipal officials from throughout the state participated, and a representative from the Office of Policy Management gave a presentation on Governor M. Jodi Rell’s budget proposal. Topics covered included regionalization, Town Aid Road money and funding of the resident trooper program. Many of the selectmen and town managers were worried about the latter, fearing that their communities would have to pick up the entire bill for their troopers. Avon Town Manager Philip Schenck was among the participants.
