REP. HOVEY NAMED TO STATE YOUTH COUNCIL

State Representative DebraLee Hovey (R-112) has been appointed to serve as a member of the state Youth Policy Council. The appointment was made by State House Republican Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr. (R-Norwalk).The Youth Policy Council supports positive youth development for all Connecticut youth between the ages of 12 and 21 and assists youths in entering the state’s workforce. It receives information from entities involved in services for children and youth and shares information with other entities to improve communication and collaboration to better meet the needs of youth.

The Council also conducts policy-relevant research and analysis through partnerships, develops guidelines for the delivery of youth services and makes policy recommendations to the General Assembly.

“I’m confident that DebraLee Hovey’s background in the education field will make her an asset to the Youth Policy Council, much in the same way she an outstanding leader on the Legislature’s Childrens Committee,” said Rep. Cafero.

“I am thrilled to receive this appointment and happy to have another opportunity to help benefit young people throughout our state,” said Rep. Hovey. “I look forward to the additional challenges and responsibilities.”
