Old Saybrook Police Warn Community of Phone Scam
According to an article in the New Haven Register, the Old Saybrook Police Department is receiving numerous complaints about a phone scam hitting the area. The caller tells residents they won a lottery or contest then asks for bank account or other personal information for the funds to be dispersed.
The police department advises residents to never send money or personal information to someone you don’t know and if you didn’t enter a contest then you probably didn’t win a contest. Be sure to report any suspicious activity to authorities.
