Earlier this week, Representative Tim Ackert assisted the Vernon residents with snow removal and clean-up
In the wake of collapsing roofs, Ackert responded to a plea made to residents for asistance in clearing snow from roofs around town. Ackert, still wearing a suit, came straight from the capitol picked up a shovel and got to work.
”Yes, I was elected to represent the people of Coventry, Columbia and Vernon in Hartford,” said Ackert. “But on a more basic level I was elected to serve the people. Service comes in many different shapes and forms and doesn’t stop at the steps of the Capitol. It was my pleasure to help do a bit of shoveling.”
