Rep. Themis Klarides Promotes Literacy
Reads to local Elementary School Children as part of Read Across America Day 

Representative Themis Klarides read to elementary school students of Beecher Road School in Woodbridge Wednesday, March 2nd at 9:15 AM as part of the Read Across America program to underscore to students the importance of literacy. Rep. Klarides read Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? by Dr. Seuss to a 4th grade class.

The Read Across America program is an annual literacy awareness campaign organized by the National Education Association to celebrate reading and is observed on March 2nd, Dr. Seuss’s birthday.

“A writer for the L.A. Times once said ‘No skill is more crucial to the future of a child, or to a democratic and prosperous society, than literacy,’” Rep. Klarides said about literacy efforts.
