WOLCOTT — Rep. Rob Sampson recently joined members of the Exchange Club of Wolcott in honoring three of this community’s vital assets: the town’s teacher, firefighter and police officer of the year. Sampson attended the club’s Public Service Awards banquet, held at Krystal Gardens. Shannon Baba, a fifth grade teacher at Frisbie School, was named teacher of the year. Charles Marsella, a member of the volunteer fire department’s first company, received the firefighter award while Chief Neil O’Leary was named police officer of the year. Residents as well as members of the town’s business community and services organizations helped celebrate. Sampson gave the recipients a special citation from the General Assembly.
