In a marathon debate on the floor of the House, Rep. Greene said he was opposed to the paid sick leave bill because it’s just one more in a long list of mandates on Connecticut business.
The paid sick leave bill would force employers with 50 or more employees to provide 5 days of paid sick leave regardless of their current employment policies or whether or not their business could remain open under the weight of such a mandate. Many small business owners have complained about the measure and have said they will reduce staff to avoid being snared in the law and to keep their doors open.
