Rep Tony Hwang and Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch accompanied by federal, state and local veterans affairs officials officially opened the first of its kind Veterans Support Center. The Center will support Veterans throughout Fairfield County by consolidating federal, state and local veteran services in one location. The Center will also provide daily shuttle buses transporting Veterans to the West Haven VA Hospital as well. Soldiers back from Iraq, or any other veterans can stop by the center. Officials stationed at the center will help vets get job training, search for housing, and connect them to mental health resources.
