Rep. Giegler was in attendance at the annual Western Connecticut Health Network legislative breakfast in Danbury, where she joined other legislative leaders to learn about new developments taking place at the facility. Rep. Giegler, who has an extensive professional background in the medical industry, toured the state-of-the-art facilities at the Western Connecticut Health Network Biomedical Research Institute and saw firsthand the progress that has been made with the multi-million dollar renovations.
Additionally, she received an update on Danbury Hospital’s affiliation with New Milford Hospital and took in a PowerPoint presentation providing information on the progress of their tower expansion. Rep. Giegler also learned details of the Network’s new Healthlink E-records, which uses today’s technology to enable medical professionals to take part in more advanced practices, such as electronic note taking. Discussions between the legislators and Network leadership focused around this session’s legislative priorities and the impact of the state hospital tax and funding cuts on the Network.
