Rep. O’Neill joined Southbury First Selectman Ed Edelson, Film Commission Chair Ann Armeno and other distinguished town leaders to celebrate the kickoff of the Southbury Film Commission. The purpose of the Commission is to facilitate filmmaking in Southbury by acting as a point of contact for filmmakers looking to use the Town’s pastoral, historical and picturesque landscape as a backdrop for their shooting. The Commission is a sub-committee of the Southbury Economic Development Commission. The idea for the organization has been in the works for a number of years and when Rep. O’Neill gave his remarks, he recognized Armeno as well as John Turk – the former Chair of the Economic Development Commission – who have been driving forces for the creation of the Commission. Rep. O’Neill wished the Commission well in their efforts and congratulated the members on this long-awaited inaugural occasion.
