Rep. Srinivasan was delighted to welcome five Glastonbury High School agri-science students to the Capitol on Wednesday for the legislature’s annual Agriculture Awareness Day. Rep. Srinivasan had the opportunity to listen as the students described the various projects they are involved with both within the classroom and outside of the traditional classroom environment. Rep. Srinivasan was in awe of the students’ motivation as they skip lunch to take additional classes. It is clear that the hands-on experience they have at such a young age will be very useful in their careers in the near future. The students then informed Rep. Srinivasan of the funding gap existing between funding for all other specialty programs and the agri-science program. They discussed that it is necessary to reduce this gap.
