Rep. Carter recently attended the Connecticut Tax Collectors Association legislative breakfast where he had the opportunity to speak with local municipal tax collectors about pending legislation that may affect their efforts. The Connecticut Tax Collectors Association is an organization that was established to promote efficient, effective and equitable municipal tax collections. The group spoke with Rep. Carter and other legislators about two bills: one that aims to reform the process for the jeopardy collection of taxes and another bill that would reduce the interest rate on delinquent taxes.
