Rep. Sawyer Welcomes Air Patrol Cadets to the House

HARTFORD – State Representative Pam Sawyer (R-55) yesterday welcomed state championship-winning New Fairfield High School Civil Air Patrol Cadets to the House of Representatives.

Lawmakers welcomed the group and with a round of applause before sharing with the Chamber about the Cadets’ extensive accomplishments.

“As a Major in the Civil Air Patrol, I have a great appreciation for the hard work and training these Cadets dedicate to the Patrol. I have no doubt these young men and women will use their unique skill set to achieve at whatever it is they choose to pursue in the future.” Rep. Sawyer said. “I would also like to commend the many men and women who volunteer their time, working with these great young people.”

The cadets were named state champions in March at the annual Civil Air Patrol Cadet competition – an impressive feat given that this was the first year that New Fairfield has entered the competition.

Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force with 57,000 members nationwide. Rep. Sawyer has worked with the NER-CT-071 – Royal Charter at Brainard Airport in Hartford.
