VIDEO: In memory of Lieutenant G. Marshall Sanford

Lieutenant George Marshall Sanford of Redding passed away in the line of duty fighting a brush fire on April 15, which marked the end of a five-decades-long legacy of community firefighting. Lt. Sanford was a past president of Bethel and Redding fire companies and was no stranger to various forms of community volunteerism. He volunteered for almost forty years in the Danbury Hospital emergency room and also served for just as long on the Redding Zoning Board. Rep. Carter, along with Reps. Shaban and Cafero, called for a moment of silence in the House of Representatives in honor of Lieutenant Sanford’s dedication to the community.
