Major Public Acts

A lot of important and consequential pieces of legislation were debated and passed by the General Assembly throughout the 2012 Legislative Session, which concluded on May 9. In order to better inform people about this legislation, the non-partisan Office of Legislative Research (OLR) has released summaries of the 2012 major public acts. To view the report, please click here.

These summaries are intended to briefly describe the most significant, far-reaching and publicly debated acts passed in the regular session; however, they are by no means extensive explanations. OLR will release much more detailed summaries of all public acts later this summer.

Some of the topics outlined in the report include: alcohol, the budget, businesses and jobs, education reform and elections.

If you would like to discuss these or any other topics that came before the legislature this session, please contact me by calling 800-842-1423 or emailing themis.klarides@housegop.ct.gov
