Rep. Smith, joined by State Senator Michael McLachlan, was pleased to host a successful Town Hall Meeting on Thursday night in New Fairfield. Rep. Smith answered questions from attendees and was eager to hear from constituents about issues concerning them about the town and state. Some of the topics discussed included the cost of natural gas, the real estate conveyance tax, the tax on clothing that costs less than $50, the quality of New Fairfield’s education system, zoning regulations and the economy.
Rep. Smith was impressed by the insightful comments and suggestions that constituents offered, and was very grateful for their time and input. Anyone who was unable to attend the event but would like to offer their thoughts or ask questions can reach Rep. Smith any time at 800-842-1423 or Richard.Smith@housegop.ct.gov.
