State Representative Christopher Davis (R- Ellington) had a busy month meeting with constituents to discuss this year’s legislative session and to listen to questions and concerns of the people of East Windsor and Ellington.
Davis made individual trips to the East Windsor Senior Center, East Windsor Town Hall, Ellington Senior Center and Ellington Town Hall to meet with constituents. At each location, he gave a presentation about the status of the state budget and major legislation from the session, including the repeal of the death penalty, medical marijuana, Sunday sales and education reform.
“I have made it a priority to be as accessible as possible so I can be a strong voice for the people of East Windsor and Ellington in Hartford,” Davis said. “In order to do that, and do it properly, I have to discuss the issues that are important with the people and businesses in our district on a regular basis.”
In his first term as a legislator, Davis has made town hall meetings, visits to the senior centers, informational forums and business tours a frequent occurrence. Davis said he tries to make himself as available to his constituents as possible to make sure they are informed about what happens in Hartford and how it will affect them locally.
“People are busier now than ever, and it isn’t always easy for them to track every issue or every important piece of legislation as it progresses during the legislative session,” Davis added. “That’s why I try to reach out to my constituents and actively seek to keep them informed.”
Davis said that, in addition to attending one of his many events in the district, he can always be reached by calling (860) 240-8700 or sending an email to Christopher.davis@housegop.ct.gov.
