Rep. Smith and Sen. McLachlan donate new U.S. flag to New Fairfield Senior Center

On July 3, Rep. Smith and Sen. McLachlan donated a new United States flag to the New Fairfield Senior Center to replace the senior center’s aging flag. The new flag was flown over the State Capitol on June 18th.

The new flag was hoisted to the top of the senior center’s flag pole by Civil Air Patrol Color Guard cadets from New Fairfield High School.

“The seniors in New Fairfield contribute so much to our community, and I am glad we could honor them with the presentation of this flag.” Rep. Smith said. “I want to thank the New Fairfield High School Civil Air Patrol for helping to mark this occasion with respect and dignity.”

“We are proud that this new flag will fly over the senior center – and just in time for the Fourth of July,” Sen. McLachlan said.
