Rep. Srinivasan attends annual Glastonbury Senior Citizen Picnic

Rep. Srinivasan had the opportunity to meet with seniors and hear their concerns at the annual Senior Picnic at the Glastonbury Community Center.

Some of the issues discussed included:
1) The need to be fiscally responsible and to reduce wasteful spending, such as a the controversial $567 million Hartford to New Britain bus line.

2) The heavy burden of unfunded pension liabilities that are slated to drive our state and country off the cliff in terms of financial security and viability. This needs to be addressed, and addressed immediately.

3) The frequency of property tax payments – many seniors noted it would be helpful to pay in increments quarterly, as opposed to twice yearly.

4) Their appreciation for the improvements to the Glastonbury Housing Authority complex on Knox Lane.
