State Representative DebraLee Hovey (R-112), who was travelling out of the country as today’s tragedy unfolded, and has cut her family vacation short to return immediately to her district, issued the following statement this afternoon:
“Words fail to describe the shock and horror I feel upon learning of this incomprehensible act of cruelty and violence that has ended so many beautiful and innocent lives right in our home community.
“When tragedies like this unfold from remote locations, the shockwaves always reach us, and shake us as parents, and grandparents. But never do we imagine that one day that the very epicenter of such tragedy and heartbreak will be in our own backyard. My sympathy, love and prayers are with the families, friends and neighbors who have today experienced the kind of horror and tragedy no parent should ever have to.”
