About Laura Hoydick

aura Hoydick has spent most of her life living, working, and volunteering in the Town of Stratford. Laura is a mother of three daughters, Brooke, Jillian and Paige, and the wife of Paul Hoydick. She holds a business administration degree from Sacred Heart University.

Her professional experience is as a property manager, first for Station House Square, LLC of Stratford, and currently for Winstanley Property Management, LLC of New Haven. For nearly five years, Laura was the Executive Director of the Stratford Chamber of Commerce, an affiliate of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council. As Executive Director, Laura acted as a liaison to local and state government on behalf of the Stratford business community.

Laura is well known in Stratford for her dedication to Stratford schools as an elected member of the Board of Education. She served seven years, four of them as chairwoman. Laura has also held prominent roles in the Second Hill Lane and Flood Middle School PTAs.

Laura’s volunteer contributions to the Town are numerous. She has been especially dedicated to Sterling House, the Greater Bridgeport Ameri-Corps, National Service Program, the Stratford Youth & Family Advisory Board, the Perry House Foundation, and Our Lady of Grace Church. She also served two years as an elected member of the Stratford Planning Commission.

Laura has been recognized with several prestigious awards including membership in the National Honor Society, Alpha Sigma Lambda, the Youth As Resources Adult Volunteer Award, the Women of Distinction Award, from the Housatonic Girl Scout Council, and the Friend of Education Award from the Stratford Board of Education.

Laura Hoydick was elected State Representative from the 120th District in the March 2, 2010 Special Election.
