State State Representative Sean Williams, a lifelong Watertown/Oakville resident, represents the 68th House district covering Watertown, Oakville and Woodbury. He was one of the youngest people ever elected to the House (at age 21) in 2003, while a senior at the University of Connecticut. He won re-election in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012. Since 2011, he has served as House Ranking Member (Republican leader) of the legislature’s Joint Committee on Finance, Revenue and Bonding and is a recognized advocate for smaller government and less regulation. As the House GOP leader on the Finance Committee, Sean has helped to lead a group of Republican lawmakers who crafted “no tax increase” budget alternatives to the consistently bloated and tax-heavy budgets which has been proposed and passed by the majority Democrats in the past decade.
